  2. Review of Lumina Solar PA in Chester County Pennsylvania by Matthew Cawthorne: I was really excited with the idea of getting a rooftop PV system, and Lumina had really good reviews. Their price was nearly identical to another very highly rated company in my area and I liked the look of the REC panels so we went with Lumina. During the initial sizing I proposed a symmetric configuration that was pleasing to the eye and was told 'we can discuss the exact configuration during the engineering phase'. Well, I was never contacted until all of the approvals were complete and at that point it was too late to get the configuration that I wanted. The Lumina configuration was unsymmetric and had 1 fewer panel on the highly productive south facing roof. It was not the end of the world, but I take pride in the aesthetics of my house. In the end I was able to get them to make it symmetric, but with the one less panel in the good orientation. The biggest problem, however is that the panels on the front of the house are in a nearly ideal orientation, facing almost south, and with a roof pitch that is good for this latitude. The 400+ watt panels are oriented well enough that they should be able to generate close to 400 watts during the middle of the day (cloud cover permitting). Lumina specified and installed 300 watt inverters so those panels never produce more than 300 watts. Instead of a sine wave for production I get a curve that is clipped flat on top. 300 watt inverters are ok for the back of the house where the sun angles are not as ideal and the panels cannot produce as much power, but not for the front. So why am I giving them 4 stars? Well, their Operations department that scheduled and performed the installation did a really good job and were a delight to work with. The workmanship is really good and everything has been functioning for the first 16 months of operation. There were no surprises in the pricing.

  8. Review of Lumina Solar PA in Chester County Pennsylvania by melissa olsen: We reached out to multiple companies about installing a rather large system on our property. Not only was Lumina competitively priced they offered the best warranty. From the first interaction with our sales rep (Phillip Jordan) we knew we were in good hands. He has consistently gone above and beyond for us (even after our installation was complete) and I cannot recommend working with him enough. There were a few hiccups in communication throughout the process but Phillip (and Lumina) were quick to resolve everything. Everyone who worked on our project at our home treated it like their own home. They knew a clean install was important to us, and the final result shows it. You can't ask for much more out of any contractor. We are extremely pleased with not only the system, but their service from start to finish, and cannot recommend them enough. In the event we need to add onto our current system, we will be reaching out to them again.
  9. Review of Lumina Solar PA in Chester County Pennsylvania by Michael VanHeyst: We could not have been more impressed with Lumina solar sales and installers. Phil was an expert on all things solar and answered all of our questions and laid out great options for our instal. We were incredibly impressed by the installers. They worked with us to hide the wiring to the meter and were in and out in one day. Most impressively they roped off their area of work so that my kids did not get to their equipment and they picked up every last bit of trash behind them. The solar system is saving us $$ everyday and we could not be more happy with it.
  10. Review of Lumina Solar PA in Chester County Pennsylvania by Tamara O'Brien: Great experience! So excited to have solar power. Philip and his team handled everything, including Philly's red tape. Was an easy process, all questions answered quickly and clearly. Highly recommend!

Isn't it interesting how a basic act like checking or cleaning up can breathe brand-new life into a system? It's a little effort with a huge payoff, ensuring your panels keep absorbing the Chester County Pennsylvania sun for several years.

Unveiling the Tricks of Residential Solar Energy System Style

Picture the sun as a ruthless artist, painting your rooftop with streams of energy. But not all canvases are created equivalent. In Chester County Pennsylvania, where solar irradiance dances with seasonal shifts, developing a domestic solar energy system requires more than simply slapping panels on a roofing system. The subtle art depends on recording maximum sunlight while navigating the peculiarities of regional weather condition and architectural subtleties.

The Puzzle of Orientation and Tilt

What if I informed you that a couple of degrees difference in panel tilt could imply the distinction in between a power-packed year and a disappointing output? Chester County Pennsylvania's latitude recommends a tilt angle near to 30-40 degrees, but do not rush-- factors like roof pitch, shading from towering trees, and even chimney shadows can dramatically alter performance.

  • South-facing roofing systems are ideal, however east or west can still yield reputable energy if optimized.
  • Adjusting panel angles seasonally isn't practical for many property owners, yet fixed installs need to be chosen wisely.
  • Partial shading, even from a thin branch, triggers disproportionate drops in output-- microinverters or power optimizers can mitigate this result.
